Paton-Churdan Middle School students rode the Sauk Rail Trail from Maple River to Lake View on Friday, Oct. 21.
Students were challenged with a 20-mile bike ride but rewarded with the beautiful views on the trail, social time with their friends and a pizza lunch at Speaker Park in Lake View. This ride isn’t all about physical activity. It is also a lesson on perseverance. It was tough for many of the riders, but they can proudly say, “I did it!”
The ride would not have been possible without help from adult volunteers including Jon Duckett, Marcia Tasler, Whitney Minnehan, and Team Spin for helping transport bikes (Jim and Paul Brown). A very special thank you to all volunteers for supporting the bike trip by taking the time out of your day and providing the means to haul 50 bikes to the trail and back.
